Story:
Aurelia looks like a lifeless desert. The atmosphere is so thin that breathing without a mask got impossible. The magnetic field of the planet almost disappeared due to the unimaginably strong magnetic pulses of the new weapons, the planets core seems to stand still. On the surface, there is almost no trace of life left; only the most persistent life forms remained. The temperature on the surface lies constantly above 50°C. It is said that worldwide there are only around 100.000 people left, but nobody knows the exact number. The few survivors hunkered down under the planet’s surface, where the enormous radiation of the local star is mainly blocked. The scientists are still experimenting with the extra-terrestrial devices. It seems they are not far from a fundamental breakthrough, an energy source, fed by the cosmic background radiation, inexhaustible. This would be the only solution to avoid the end of their species.
