Story:
Is the reality that a 3 dimensional being is experiencing the true and only one? Is it possible to fully describe a mind exclusively on a physical and chemical level? Are we as inhabitants of this reality able to find this out without observing the reality from “outside”? How has life started? What is the meaning of life? Is there a superior being or a god? Are there other universes? Is there a life after death? To answer the last fundamental question of the species scientists are planning to build a unique artificial intelligence.
It will not be a robot or android as many people imagine. It is a virtual being without limiting hardware. After long development and countless tests the new AI starts to take its first own complex decisions. The AI claims to pursue the good of the species. A few scientists are sceptical and scared of the unknown. However, the bigger part of the community is not willing for a longer wait and provides the AI all possible processing power. The AI shall be connected to the global network and thus raised to a level where it starts to develop itself. This will not take place like on natural intelligence in small steps and continuous. An AI develops itself exponentially. The generated super intelligence could develop an understanding of reality beyond imagination; it would become impossible to capture the impact by any natural mind at any present point in time, because it would be controlled by an intelligence that would outclass the natural mind perpetually. The evolution moves from the field of biology to a technological field. An AI out of control could mean the end of the species as we know it, regardless if it is friendly or hostile minded. The final breakthrough of the scientists happens with the brilliant idea to reprogram the at this point developed AI in a way that they self-start to program AI’s with quantum computers. Only AI’s are able to use quantum computers to their full potential.
