Story:
As the life on the planet goes on, immediately and without any prior warning the planetary network crashes. Electrical current is available only in the server centres. The inhabitants are asked over all media to urgently backup their minds. Backups are now done on a regular basis when a body loses functionality due to inner or outer damage. However, until this point the data was saved solely on an external, fully isolated memory and only for a very short period. However, this time it’s different: the minds are asked to be saved into the global network system and not just the minds of the populace, but rather the mind of every single intelligent being on and in the planet. This is the arrival, the end of the biological evolution, the last judgement, the prophecy. The spirits of those who do not follow the almighty’s instructions will be inevitably lost forever.
Therefore, most beings set out promptly on their way – knowing this might be the aspired, but feared singularity – and try to get to the biometry centres, in the hope to ensure the continuance of their own simple minds. As all spirits get rid of their bodies, an unusual silence appears. It seems like every form of life had left the planet. Soon the complete celestial body is covered by nanoparticles, weathering has completely stopped. The planet becomes a super massive, homogenous, static sphere. The AI singularity can create and destroy atoms at any time on every place as needed. The energy consume of the sphere is almost zero, the energy will last for the remaining lifetime of the universe. The uploaded beings experience neither time nor space. In this place there solely rules eternity, the feeling of perfection and completeness, the completion of a billion years’ ongoing process. This is the firm, final state of a civilization, the singularity.
